42 years as a general contractor helping owners
in the role of Owner’s Project Manager.

I formed West Coast Project Management Inc. in 2010
as a way of using my vast experience and knowledge gained in 35 years of building 240 fine structures and 10 years
helping clients as an Owner’s Project Manager.

I started as a custom builder in San Diego County in Southern California, where I gained a reputation as being one of the area’s finest contractors. Back in 1975 I received my CA General Contractors License #305719. After 15 years I moved to the mountains and established operations in Telluride

Known for my ability to successfully complete architecturally-challenging projects, I developed a close working relationship with both world-renowned and local architects. In 1999, I opened a second office in Aspen, Colorado. I closed both operations during the recession of 2008.

I now work as a construction project manager and Owner’s Representative based in Marin County in the San Francisco Bay Area including cities such as Tiburon, Belvedere, Mill Valley, Sausalito, Ross, Woodside, Los Altos Hills, Menlo Park, Atherton, and Palo Alto, as well as Sonoma, and Napa Counties.

I keep up with new products and techniques by continuing education in Building Science. I have been a proponent of Green Building practices for my entire career.

In the year 2000 I was recognized as Builder of the Year by the Colorado Association of Homebuilders for my efforts in Green Building. I have received numerous other national and regional awards.

In April 2010 I traveled to Haiti with the nonprofit Helping Hands (now called All Hands) { } to help rebuild after the January 2010 earthquake.

I have been a national speaker and often contribute articles to local newspapers on various Green Building topics. I am an avid sailor, skier, and hiker.

Client Feedback

{Richard was very helpful in terms of keeping us on schedule and saving us money during the builder selection and pre-construction process. Because of his breath of knowledge and his deep experience he always knew what questions to ask. In addition, he knew where to draw the line with contractors in terms of charges that were unwarranted or excessive. Finally, Richard allowed us to focus on our busy careers and still get a quality and cost effective design.
Doug, Sausalito
{As we wind down, I must say that it has been a pleasure to work with you. You are detailed and precise (as I am, for better or worse) and very efficient. I would be happy to serve as a reference.
Scott, Belvedere
{Your careful attention to my home allows me to give my full attention to all the meditation students as I am doing this entire 4 weeks. Therefore, you are serving these students just as am I, each of us in our own skill sets. It is a beautiful thought isn’t it. In Buddhism we call it either co-arising or interdependence, meaning everything and people are interconnected.
Phillip, Belvedere
{You did a great job in managing this project and Sue, she seems very pleased. The timing and various contractors, your experience shows.
John Merten, Studio Green
{Richard was the general contractor for the renovation of our home in Belvedere. Richard did a fantastic job working with the quirks of the house; he was inventive in his solutions and you can see his craftsmanship everywhere in the final results. One of the most significant changes we ended up making — raising the ceilings in the kitchen — came directly from his suggestion. He was also a delight to work with; we were on a tight schedule but also kept tweaking our plans, and he handled it all with good cheer and responsiveness. We love how the house turned out, and we have Richard to thank for that.
Steven, Belvedere
{Unless you have years of expertise in construction, if you are going to build or re-model, I would strongly recommend that your first call be to Richard Wodehouse. As an owners representative, you have a friend in the construction industry.
